Fashion Styling and Curation: How We Work at Aguadulce

Aguadulce

One of the less visible but most important functions of a concept store is styling. It is not an upsell or a peripheral luxury service: it is a central part of how fashion curation operates. A piece sold with advice ends up being worn; a piece sold without context often stays in the closet. At Aguadulce, styling is an active, not decorative, service channel.

What a stylist does

A professional stylist translates a specific need ("I'm going to a wedding in Antigua," "I'm traveling to CDMX for work," "I need a look for a TV interview," "I want to renew my daily wardrobe") into a proposal of specific pieces that work together: how to combine them, what accessories to add, what shoes, what alterations. They are not a salesperson; they are an editorial advisor.

How the service operates at Aguadulce

  • In-person at Casa Catorze. Schedule an appointment via WhatsApp, arrive at the store at 16 Calle and 4ª Avenida, Zone 14, and work one-on-one with a stylist from the team. The session lasts between 60 and 120 minutes. Free if you make a purchase during the session.
  • Remote. For clients in the interior or outside Guatemala. We work via video or messaging: you share the context (occasion, size, palette, budget), and we put together a visual proposal with specific pieces from the catalog. Home delivery.
  • For media and audiovisual production. We work with external stylists on loans for editorials, photo shoots, and brand content. If you need signed pieces with documented authorship for a production, contact us via WhatsApp.

Typical cases

  1. Destination wedding. Main dress + guest or bridesmaid, coordinated accessories, rehearsal dinner look. Designer resort wear is the dominant category.
  2. International travel. Modular wardrobe of 8-12 pieces that combine with each other, suitable for variable weather, and don't wrinkle in luggage. Focus on timeless designer fashion pieces.
  3. Look for a professional event. Contemporary Mexican tailoring, oversized blazer, statement piece. Typically between Q3,000-Q6,000 investment.
  4. Daily wardrobe renewal. Audit of what you already have + incorporation of 6-10 anchor pieces that multiply looks. The most requested by clients in their 30s and 40s.
  5. Editorial session / content. Curated loan of pieces according to the production brief. Requires prior coordination.

Why styling and curation are the same conversation

A premium multi-brand store without styling service is like a gallery without a curator: the catalog is there, but the editorial interpretation is lost. The fashion curation that the team puts together each season is only completed when a client understands how to combine the pieces — and that requires direct advice.
